Jennifer Chenevert first discovered the thrill of jewelry making while in high school. There she learned the basic skills of soldering, piercing, filing and stone setting. She went on to get a BFA in Studio Arts with a concentration in Sculpture/Metals from LSU. Over the years she has honed her skills by apprenticing and working for various goldsmiths, enamelist, and silversmiths. Jennifer now has her own line of jewelry that she sells at local and regional juried craft shows and galleries.
Jennifer is a sixth generation New Orleanian who finds the city teeming with inspiration. There is a vibrant movement and energy everywhere in the city, from the peeling paint on an old shotgun house to the wrought iron spirals and the music that can always be heard! She infuses her work with the same energy by using color and kinetic pieces. She is interested in making jewelry that is inviting to the touch and in making fun, playful, wearable objects.
