Jewelry Designer

One can get lost gazing into the shimering, textured valleys of metal adornments by this native New Orleanian.  Alison primarily uses silver in her works but also incorporates contrast in her pieces by mixing metals, using patinas & incorporating unique cuts & the intense colors of precious & semi-precious stones.  She selects stones rich in color variation & depth and enjoys composing highly textured pieces with the use of metal stamps, reticulation & etching.

Alison has been collection rocks & making art for as long as she can remember.  She began working in metal as a jewelry artist in 2009 and found her true passion when she realized she could combine her two loves.  Alison pulls inspiration from both organic & geometric forms.  Colors & textures she discovers in nature are a constant source of stimulation for her design process.  Alison hand-fabricates all of her pieces using metalsmithing techniques such as soldering, fold forming, etching, keum-boo & enameling.

Alison studied metals under Margo Manning at Delgado Community College.  She has continued her jewelry education by taking workshops from master enamelists & studying at Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts.
